SCH, Crestview holding blood drive
COLUMBIANA-Salem Community Hospital and Crestview High School are partnering to host an American Red Cross blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 18 at Crestview High School, 44100 Crestview Road.
Recently, the American Red Cross has reported a limited supply of all blood types. This shortage is most likely due to severe winter weather in January, which resulted in low donor turnout.
Your blood donation to the American Red Cross remains in Northeastern Ohio and is used to supply regional hospitals, including those used by your family, friends and neighbors. Blood donations are used during surgeries and routine treatments for a variety of health conditions.
Victims of traumatic accidents also rely on this valuable resource to save their lives. More than 900 blood donors are needed each day in our region to meet the need.
New donors are always welcome. Regular donors who have not given since Dec. 24 are eligible to donate again. Appointments may be made by calling 330-482-4744.
