Boil advisory lifted
COLUMBIANA- The city has lifted the Boil Advisory for North Elm, East Salem and Herbster streets.
United Quilt Guild
SALEM- The United Quilt Guild of Hanoverton will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 5 at the Salem Presbyterian Church on Second Street to spend the day sewing on projects. Members are asked to bring their own sewing supplies and food if desired. The regular business meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the church.
Coat distribution
LISBON- The Columbiana County Medical Society will hold its "Winter Apparel" distribution from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the First United Methodist Church, 114 East Washington St. Members of the community needing gently worn coats, gloves, scarves and hats are encouraged to come to the Lisbon church during these hours. Family members are encouraged to be present to obtain their clothing.
The coats, hats, scarves and gloves were donated by area residents through the Columbiana County Medical Society's Winter Apparel collection drive last week. For information contact Donna Thompson, executive director of the Columbiana County Medical Society, at 330-332-7213.
Salem 1949 breakfast
SALEM - Salem High School Class of 1949 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 9 at Salem Hills, instead of meeting Jan. 2.
Christmas Eve
NEW WATERFORD-The community is invited to Christmas Eve services on Thursday at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church. The first service at 5 p.m. is for families and children. The service is based on the book, "Voices of Christmas," by Nikki Grimes. The Christmas story unfolds as never before, through the voices of those who witnessed the Messiah's birth.
The second service is the traditional candlelight service beginning at 7:30 p.m. with a musical prelude at 7:15 p.m. This service will include traditional instrumental, organ and piano music and hymns, the Christmas story and conclude with singing by candlelight.
