Sebring couple electrocuted

Staff Reports
POSTED: December 17, 2009

SEBRING - Police found two people dead in a West Texas Avenue home Tuesday night, possibly victims of electrocution.

According to Channel 27 FirstNews, police found the bodies of Douglas Strother, 41, and Tina McGarvey, 40, near each other in the basement of the home after responding to a report of two bodies found there around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials are bringing in a licensed electrician to investigate the deaths, but there was no official cause of death as of Wednesday night. However, early reports have indicated there were no signs of foul play.

McGarvey had been living in the house for the past seven years.

The state Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Mahoning County Coroner's Office are investigating the deaths and will be interviewing several people, including the person who called 911.
