Crestview opera

COLUMBIANA-Two 45 minute interactive presentations are planned at Crestview High School auditorium at 10:21 and 11:14 a.m. today. Crestview students will be involved in planning and creating an improvised opera on the spot with the visiting artists from the Pittsburgh Opera. The presenters will be Amy Stabnau, soprano; Daphne Alderson, contralto; Dean Kokanos, tenor; John Dooley, baritone; and Karen Roethlisberger Verm at the piano. Students will build an opera from the overture to the finale and then watch as the artists perform their masterpiece.

LEETONIA-Breakfast with Santa will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Leetonia School K-12 campus. Cost is $5 per person, $3 for children under 10 and free for under 3. Photos with Santa are available.

Salem school board

SALEM-The Salem City Schools board meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday at Southeast Elementary School. An executive session has been added after the meeting.

Beaver Local BOE

LISBON-Beaver Local Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. Monday in the high school media center.

Holiday dinner

SEBRING-A free holiday dinner, hosted by the Community Fellowship and Food organization, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at the B.L. Miller elementary school cafeteria. The school is located on 19th Street. Everyone from the community is welcome, bring the family or bring a friend and enjoy the food, fellowship and holiday music. Members of the Bethel United Church of Christ Choir will be on hand to entertain with Christmas carols during the meal. The Community Fellowship and Food organization is comprised of area churches and agencies with the purpose of providing free monthly dinners to neighbors in an atmosphere of open-hearted community fellowship.

SALEM-Bank One retirees and past employees will meet for the annual Christmas luncheon at noon Dec. 15 at the Salem Golf Club.

Candlelight service
