Jean A. Murray
EAST PALESTINE - Jean A. Murray, 90, formerly of 342 North Market St., died at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Covington Community Campus, where she had been a resident.
Mrs. Murray was born May 20, 1919 in Darlington, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mattie M. Davis McCown, and had resided in East Palestine since 1972, coming from Beaver Falls, Pa.
Prior to her retirement in 1971, she had been employed with the Blackhawk and Beaver Falls, PA school districts as a bus driver and bookkeeper for twenty years.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, William E. Murray, whom she married May 14, 1941, preceded her in death on May 14 of 2005. Two daughters, Shirley Ann and Hila Jean Murray, had also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Charles W. Murray, East Palestine; a daughter, Jeanne Morris, Aurora, Col.; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Bartholomew of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, Columbiana, officiating. Burial will be Highland Cemetery, Ohioville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
