SALEM - Mark Wayne Cross, 50, of 479 South Egypt Road, Salem died at 9:33 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Salem Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 25, 1959 in Salem, the son of the late Joseph Jr. and Elsie (Greenawalt) Cross.

Mark had been a foundry worker and had formerly worked at former Tullis Aluminum Brass. He was a former member of the Leetonia Eagles and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing cards.

His wife, Billie (Clarkson) Cross, whom he married Nov. 14, 1981, survives him, along with a son, Mark Cross II of Salem; two daughters, Craig Cross and Beth Ann Cross, both of Salem; four brothers, Michael (Linda) Cross of Salem, Jeff (Eva) Cross of Salem, Randy Cross and Dennis Cross, both of Leetonia; four sisters, Deborah Greiner of Kenner, Louisiana; Nancy (Art) Tevough of Leetonia, Mark (Diane) Reynolds of Alliance, and, Mark (Connie) Poffenberger of Kenner, Louisiana; and three grandchildren.

A brother, Joseph Cross Jr. preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Salvation Army Chapel, 1249 North Ellsworth, Salem.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Arrangements were handled by the Stark Memorial.
