Frances V. VanPelt

SALEM-Frances "Fran" V. VanPelt, 88, of Salem, died at 8:05 p.m. Nov. 24 at Essex I in Salem from complications of a stroke.

Born July 7, 1921, in Manitowoc, Wisc., she was the daughter of Ellis and Laura (Bastian) Good.

Mrs. VanPelt was a bagger and sorter at Salem Fruit Growers in Greenford for 12 years. She was a member of he Washingtonville Robbins United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death on March 4, 1980, by her husband, Jacob "Jake" VanPelt, whom she married on July 17, 1942.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Stephen) Smith of Salem; a son, Ronald (Cathy) VanPelt of Girard; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Robbins United Methodist Church in Washingtonville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Robbins United Methodist Church in Washingtonville.
