Salem bomb threat suspect faces additional charges

LISBON - A Salem man accused of using a bomb threat to divert police from a drug heist is facing additional charges for assaulting a corrections officer at the Columbiana County Jail.

James Lippiatt Jr., 20, of 1360 W. State St., was served recently with a secret indictment for assault and harassment with a bodily substance, both fifth-degree felonies, for an incident Oct. 18 at the county jail on County Home Road outside Lisbon.

According to court documents, the indictment alleged he attempted to harm corrections officer David Rogers and harassed him and corrections officer Robert Welling with a bodily substance.

He was also served with a superseding indictment issued last week for inducing panic and disrupting public services, both fourth-degree felonies, and robbery, a second-degree felony, related to the robbery incident Sept. 8 in Salem when a bomb threat was called in for Walmart as a diversion while Lease Drug was being robbed of drugs.

A secret indictment was also served against Michael Wayne Anders Gunn, 37, of 256 Wilbert Ave., East Liverpool, for gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony. The indictment alleged he recklessly had sexual contact with a two-year-old child on July 31.

Also served with secret indictments were:

Amber Cosgrove, 22, of 132 Richards Alley, Columbiana, two counts of telecommunications fraud, a second-degree felony. Documents alleged Cosgrove devised a scheme to defraud Mark Clark and Ruth Burkey on July 17 using a telecommunications device.

Jason DeLauder, 19, of 15780 Johnson Road, Lisbon, trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Documents alleged DeLauder sold the drug Valium on Oct. 15.

Hanna Conklin, 24, of Poland, complicity to trafficking in drugs, fifth-degree felony. Documents alleged Conklin knowingly solicited or procured another to sell drugs on July 24.

Dann Arnold, 46, of 32828 U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, two counts of trafficking in drugs, with forfeiture specifications, a first-degree felony, and one count of possession of drugs, with forfeiture specification, a fifth-degree felony. Documents alleged Arnold sold cocaine on April 28 and May 28 while driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee and possessed cocaine on June 1, along with $4,515 believed used to facilitate a drug abuse offense.

Johnny Speece, 27, of 339 S. Union Ave., Salem, theft, a fourth-degree felony. Documents alleged Speece stole Hydrocodone and Endocet tablets belonging to someone else on Sept. 22.

Mark Catlos, 52, of 1386 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem, possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Documents alleged Catlos possessed cocaine on March 14.

Nathan Winn, 18, of 4370 Whinnery Road, Salem, eights counts each of theft and forgery, both fifth-degree felonies, plus two additional counts of theft, one a felony and one a misdemeanor, and one count misuse of credit cards, a fourth-degree felony. Documents alleged Winn stole numerous checks belonging to Robyn Winn and forged them in April and May and June through August. He also allegedly used her credit card in July, stole from Walmart from April 30 through May 10 and failed to pay for towing service provided by Sinsley Towing on May 11.
