WB boys basketball spaghetti dinner

BELOIT-The West Branch Boys Basketball all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, featuring Petrucci's family recipe, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the high school cafeteria. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for ages 4 and under. The meal includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and dessert. Dine in or carryout is available. All proceeds will help in the purchase of new uniforms. To order tickets call 330-938-4408. The Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball Foundation games against Boardman follow.

East Palestine 2004

EAST PALESTINE-The East Palestine High School Class of 2004 will meet for a buffet at 8 p.m. Friday at the Roadhouse in Unity. Cost is $10 per person. All classmates and guests are welcome. No reservations are required. For information call Justin Powers at 330-692-0062.

Lisbon 1963

LISBON-The David Anderson High School Class of 1963 plans to meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Taste of Country.

Community dinner

NORTH GEORGETOWN-First Brethren Church at 27333 Main St. will host its monthly community dinner from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. The dinner is offered in conjunction with "Small Town Christmas," the second annual tour of crafters and their shops in the North Georgetown/Homeworth area. The menu for the homecooked dinner is roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, rolls, dessert, and beverage. The dinner is free and open to the public and is offered as a gift to the community by the church.

SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Dec. 2 at The Center on East Second Street.

Salem 1949

SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1949 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Christmas recital

WINONA-The students of Lynne's Voice and Piano Studio will present the 12th annual Christmas recital at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Winona United Methodist Church. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall following the program.

BL craft show

LISBON-Beaver Local Junior Parents are hosting a Christmas craft show and cookie sale from 10 a.,. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in the Beaver Local High School cafeteria. Over 20 vendors will offer a variety of items for sale including: pine wreaths, glassware, crafts, soaps, candles, jewelry, Christmas items, and much more. Sandwiches, snacks and refreshments are also available. A Chinese auction will be held. Cookie trays can be pre-ordered by calling 330-822-0037 or 330-532-3299.

Tree lighting

NORTH LIMA-Beaver Township will conduct its annual holiday tree lighting program at 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Veterans Memorial, state Routes 164 and 165. The program will feature music by the South Range High School Choir. Santa Claus will make an appearance and refreshments will be available after the program at the Beaver Township Administration Office. The festivities are open to all township residents, free of charge. For information call 330-549-9552.

Reading Club

SALEM-The Children's Department at Salem Public Library will once again offer a Winter Reading Club for children ages 3 and up. With this year's theme, "Snow Better Time to Read!," the Children's Department staff hope that readers will be motivated to come to the library on cold and snowy days to further develop their reading skills. Children can begin turning in books on Jan. 2. The club ends on Jan. 30. Children who read 10 books (or 300 pages) can enter their names in a drawing for book prizes which will be awarded on Feb. 1. JA online auction

YOUNGSTOWN-Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley's Online Holiday Auction is going on now through Dec. 3. This seventh annual auction is in collaboration with JA of Akron and JA of East Central Ohio. There are over 500 auction listings with quality merchandise and services donated by local merchants, service businesses and individuals from the Mahoning Valley and Akron-Canton areas. Proceeds from all auction merchandise donated from Mahoning and Trumbull County businesses, organizations and individuals will support the K-12 programs Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley provides to area schools during the 2009-10 school year. These items include event tickets, vacations, gift certificates, gift baskets and so much more.
