Kathryn Ruth Guthrie
HANOVERTON - Kathryn Ruth Guthrie, 99, of 6740 state Route 9, Hanoverton, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 6, 1910 in East Rochester the daughter of the late John F. and Vesta Julia (Albright) Brice.
Mrs. Guthrie was a meat wrapper for the former Family Frozen Foods in Salem and previously was a clerk at the Hull's Market (Frank's Market). She was a graduate of Augusta High School, Augusta, Ohio and a member of the New Garden United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Paul R. Guthrie, whom she married Feb. 26, 1930, preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Dale E. (Marjorie) Guthrie of Hanoverton; a daughter, Patricia (John) Stryffeler of New Garden; four grandchildren, Kenneth and Robert Guthrie, Diana Smith and Jeffrey Stryffeler; six great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stark Memorial with the Rev. Enzie Wade officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton. Calling hours will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the services on Tuesday.
