Sue (Assunte) DiSabatino Ieropoli
SALEM-Sue (Assunte) DiSabatino Ieropoli, 89, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday at the home of her daughter Rita Stratton, 14509 South Duck Creek Road, Salem.
She was born on July 20, 1920, in Steubenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna Domenica (Gaglardi) DiSabatino.
Mrs. Ieropoli was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and had attended Steubenville High School.
Her husband, Frank Ieropoli, whom she married June 14, 1946, at the Holy Cathedral Church in Steubenville, preceded her in death on July 13, 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Ieropoli and Anthony Ieropoli, both of Salem; three daughters, Rose Emmerling, Mary Shoop and Rita (James) Stratton, all of Salem; a sister, Margaret Chesson of Massillon, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a son, Gary leropoli; five sisters, Della Giannamore, Antoinette Falsetti, Carol D. Pierto, Lena McDivitt and Sr. Jordan (nee Anna DiSabatino) of the Dominican Order.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Eisweirth officiating.
Calling hours will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stark Memorial.
A prayer vigil will be held at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
