SALINEVILLE- The Salineville Masonic Lodge will meet at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 to vote on dues increase.

'Light-Up Night' planned at chamber

SALEM- The Salem Retail & Business Association, a division of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, has announced "Light-Up Night" to be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 on the front yard of the chamber.

The chamber's Christmas tree will be lit and the downtown snowflake lights will also be turned on for the season.

Christmas carols will be sung and hot chocolate will be provided by the First Assembly of God Church.

On Nov. 21, the Christmas Open House will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the downtown business district, with participating stores offering specials and sales for the day.

Horse drawn carriage rides will be provided from noon until 4 p.m. and will be free of charge.

Four warming stations (Fun Factory, the Salem Historical Society Gift Shop, Corner Creations, and Kolby's/Tennille's) will provide discount coupons, hot cocoa and cookies for shoppers during the day.

Holiday shows planned at Playhouse

LISBON- Two holiday time shows are planned at the Historical Trinity Playhouse in Lisbon.

Stage Left Youth Players will be performing an original musical fairytale, "Hey Li'l Red!" the weekend before Thanksgiving; book and lyrics by Kandace Cleland, music by Jodine Pilmer.

The one act play is directed by Ali Cleland and stars area kids in kindergarten through 8th grade. Showtimes include 8 p.m. Nov. 20; 2, 6 and 8 p.m. Nov. 21; and 2 and 4 p.m. Nov. 22.

EP schedules parent-teacher conferences

LISBON - Parents of students in Columbiana County can expect notification soon about dates and times for in-school H1N1 clinics beginning next week, with school district officials responsible for the notification.

The Columbiana County Health Department announced the clinics will be held in partnership with all county school districts.

"With continued vaccine shipments, it is the goal of the health department and the school districts to complete all school-based clinics by Nov. 30," a press release issued Friday said. "Parents and students will be notified directly by their school district of clinic schedules and times. Parents are encouraged to complete all forms provided by the schools in advance to ensure efficient vaccination events."

Registration can be done online at www.odh.ohio.gov, which is the Ohio Department of Health Web site.

The county health department will continue providing clinics at the health department building, 7360 state Route 45, Lisbon, for residents in targeted groups, including chronically-ill children ages 6 months to 10 years old, pregnant women with a doctor's referral and medical care professionals and first responders.

The clinics for the targeted groups will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays at the county health department.
