EL Men’s Church League results EAST LIVERPOOL — The Believers are currently in first place in the East Liverpool Men’s Church League with a 29-11 record. They are followed by LoveOthers.com?(28.5-11.5), Holy Rollers (25-15), Rogers Assembly of God (25-15), Wisemen (22-18) and Destiny House No. 1?(20-22). High game went to G. Brown with 224, followed by K. Tice (222) and R. Moser (215). High series went to L. Olmstead (639), followed by R. McHorney (589) and G. Brown?(589). Boardman Tennis Center action BOARDMAN — David Bennett currently leads Tier 1 in points with 12 in the Boardman Tennis Center’s Fall Junior Team Tennis League. Not far behind Bennett is Matt English and Josh Bennett with 9.5 points. Lil’ Beavers to play in tournament CALCUTTA — The Beaver Local Little Beavers varsity football team finished the season undefeated (8-0) in the EBFL. Now, the team will travel to participate in the Trojan Horse Invitational tournament in Troy, OH, Nov. 14 and 15. This is the first time any area team has participated in the event. East Liverpool football banquet EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool High School football banquet will be held Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. at the MotorLodge. Wellsville football banquet WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville High School football banquet will be held Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditeria. Cost is $10 at the door. BLHS cheerleading meeting CALCUTTA — There will be a mandatory meeting for all parents and cheerleaders of Beaver?Local High School Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Keystone Soccer Acad. training Keystone Soccer Academy is accepting players to train through the winter and play in the spring. Age groups range from 8-year-olds through high school. Professional trainers are Mick Bowdler and Brian Stoddard, both nationally licensed coaches. Anyone interested should email bowdler@comcast.net. Southern Jr. High sports banquet SALINEVILLE — The Southern Local junior high sports awards program will be held Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Students in grades 7-8 that participated in football, volleyball, cross country and cheerleading will be honored. ELHS cheerleading boosters EAST?LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool High School cheerleading boosters will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at the EL Dairy Queen. Chester-Newell fall turkey shoots NEWELL — The Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club will be holding its annual fall turkey shoots at 10 a.m. on Sundays through Nov. 15. Cost is $2 per shot, including hams, turkey, novelty, money and lucky X. Proceeds help benefit the Oak Glen and South Side high school scholarship funds.
