LISBON-The regular meeting of the Lisbon Exempted Village School District has been changed from Nov. 9 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 16 in the BOE office.
Salem meeting
SALEM-The Salem Memorial and Patriotic Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at AMVETS Post 45, 750 S. Broadway Ave. The agenda will include discussion of Memorial Day and the Fourth of July activities. All veterans groups are required to have one representative present. The association is accepting new members.

Pajama Storytime

United program
HANOVERTON-In honor of Veterans Day, United Local Elementary sixth graders are hosting a program at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday in the high school auditorium. Musical selections will be presented by the sixth grade and fourth-grade choirs as well as grade level classes. Recognition will be given to the important role veterans have played in our freedom. Local veterans, active duty service members and their families are invited to attend.
VFW speaker
SALEM-Jim Dickens will speak on "Honoring the Sacrifices of America's Veterans" at Sterling House Assisted Living's Veterans Day luncheon at noon Wednesday. Quartermaster of York Drexler Post 5532 since 1988, Dickens is on the board of directors for the VFW Ohio Charities and Past Commander VFW State of Ohio. Vision therapy
SALEM-"What therapy can do for individuals with low vision" will be presented by Kelly Bell, OT of Innovative Senior Care at the Nov. 12 meeting of the Macular Degeneration support group at Sterling House Assisted Living. EP?craft show
EAST PALESTINE-The East Palestine Heid Hall Craft Show returns from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 14 and noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at 20 James St. With crafts, holiday pastries, food and door prizes, the craft show is striving to return in grand style.
The events in East Palestine the second weekend in November all surround the East Palestine Town and Country Garden Club Home Tours, a staple in the area since the 70's. This year, five private residences open their doors to allow the public to view the beautiful decorations that have been carefully put together with guidance from the garden club. Pet program
SALEM-Jan Palmer and Heather Jurina of the Humane Society of Columbiana County will present an informative program from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Quaker Room at Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St. Topics will include: how to choose a pet, good places to get a pet, and how to properly care for a pet. This program is free of charge and open to the public. No registration is required. Breakfast buffet
SALEM-A public breakfast buffet will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Nov. 28 at the Salem Masonic Temple, 788 E. State St.
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea. Proceeds will be directed to the Salem Masonic Temple Building Fund.
Sebring movie event
SEBRING-The Sebring Historical Society will present its annual fund-raising holiday movie event, "The Bishop's Wife," starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven at the Strand Theatre Museum on 15th St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 4-9. The movie starts at 7 p.m. Cost is $15 for members and $18 for non-members. Admission includes the movie, museum displays, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, beverages, favors, popcorn, candy and movie trivia. For reservations call Vaunda Gorby at 330-938-6955. Alliance gift shop
ALLIANCE-The Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop will hold its annual holiday open house from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 13.
"We are very excited about this event, particularly with the many changes we have made in the shop," said Charlotte Furbee, gift shop supervisor. "We will be closed on Nov. 11 and 12 to allow us to transform our shop into a holiday wonderland," she said.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Brian Bradway, the illustrator of the Christopher Pop-In-Kins book, will be present for a book signing session. A limited number of the little elf and the book will be available for purchase.
Throughout the day, customers will receive a 25 percent discount on all items, excluding fresh flowers, cards and candy. Hourly door prizes will also be awarded.
