After standing still for a couple of portraits this deer turned tail and ran for the woods off Cherry Valley Road in Leetonia. The deer seem to be out in numbers but soon will become more scarce as the traditional gun hunting season starts Nov. 30 until Dec. 6, with an added hunting weekend on Dec. 19 and 20. Youth gun weekend is Nov. 21 and 22.
