Christmas brunch, home tour set
By KEVIN HOWELLCOLUMBIANA- The Columbiana Women's Club will host its annual Christmas Brunch and Home Tours Nov. 20 and 21.
Brunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Women's Club house at 121 N. Main St. each day; and the homes will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year's tour includes: The Bacon Home, 180 Old Saybrooke; The Sarver Home, 271 Royal Birkdale; The Tingle Home, 41234 Spring Hill Drive; The Zellers Home, 315 Kingwood Drive; and the Women's Club.
Brunch will include quiche, fruit, pastries, coffee and tea.
Cost is a $15 donation.
A special exhibit featuring illustrations from children's books and antique toys will be on display on the club's second floor throughout the event.
According to tour Chairman Roberta Myers, the brunch and home tours event is the largest fund raiser for the club, which serves as a place for women to meet and hold activities. Funds from the event go toward maintenance of the building, she said.
"This is a place for women to come to get away from their daily lives for little bit and be around other women, and this is an important event in making this place possible," Myers noted.
For ticket information call the Women's Club at 330-482-2832 or Myers at 330-892-0306.
The club is also currently conducting a poinsettia sale, with red, pink or white plants available for $8 each. Orders must be submitted by Nov. 23, with pick-up on Nov. 27 and 28. To order, call Myers at 330-892-0306 or Dorothy at 330-482-3966.
