Washingtonville council OKs pickup purchase
By KEVIN HOWELLWASHINGTONVILLE- Village Council purchased a new truck at its regular meeting Monday night.
Purchased from Donnell Ford in Salem for $15,490, the pickup is a 2010 F 150 that will be used for both the street and water departments. It should be ready to use by the end of the month.
Council also agreed to bid out the departments' current truck in a 30-day silent auction.
According to council President Will Jones, the old truck is in very poor shape and not worth insuring once the new one arrives.
The council elected to purchase the Ford over a similar truck at Columbiana Dodge, which was $2,700 more.
