NEW WATERFORD-Doris Claire Edds, 83, of 3253 Creek Road, Lot 187, New Waterford, Ohio, died at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at the Parkside Healthcare Center in Columbiana.

She was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Columbiana, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Bert) West.

Doris was a 1944 graduate of Salem High School and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Salem.

Her husband, Alfred George Edds, whom she married July 5, 1945, preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1965.

Survivors include a son, Michael G. (Hilda) Edds of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Tonia Edds of Salem; two sisters, Ellen Tetlow of Salem and Florence Haskins of Milton, W. Va.; and three grandchildren, Stacy Koch Simpson of Rochester, N. Y., Paul Koch and Whitney Edds, both of San Diego, California

A sister, Norma Laughlin, also preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
