Office Sought: Re-election as Hanover Township trustee, elected 1996
Residence: New Garden
Family Members: Wife, Marcy; Daughters, Riley, United Junior High, and Alexis, United Elementary.
Business Experience: Owner, Eagle Pass Golf Course, New Garden.
Employment: Columbiana County Health Department Public Health Emergency/ H1N1 Planning Coordinator.
Organizations: President: American Cancer Society Columbiana County; Hanoverton Ruritan; St. Johns Knights of Columbus; Guilford Lake Civic Association.
Reason for seeking re-election: As a township trustee I began a commitment four years ago to provide a higher degree of accountability and involvement with the community, and to answer to the voters who place their trust in me as their elected representative. In the last four years our board has actively pursued the issue of nuisance complaints, junk vehicles, abandoned homes, and trailers. Through these efforts nearly 13 nuisance properties will have been demolished or abated in Hanover Township.
We are responsible for maintaining nearly 58 mile of roads, and help provide funding for Guilford and Hanoverton Fire Departments, all the while keeping in sight that your taxpayers dollars are funding these projects.
I've always believed being an elected official is more than attending meetings, it's about being active with the community, and responding to the people that elect us. It's about knowing what the fire departments need to do their jobs safely, and it's about spending taxpayer money fiscally and in an efficient way. It's about being able to work with government and county elected officials to provide the best services for our township. But, most importantly it's about being able to say to myself and community that I did the job I was elected to do.
It's important to me as a resident of Hanover Township that we continue the progress we've begun. I appreciate representing our residents and ask for their vote on Nov. 3 for re-election as Hanover Township trustee.
I made a change on my form for re-election to Hanover Township Trustee, If you have already done the election addition don't worry about making changes. The only addition is I added that now I am the new president of the American Cancer Society for Columbiana County.
