Salem Rotary Club's Pancake Day is Sunday

SALEM-The Salem Rotary Club's 49th annual Pancake Day will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Salem High School cafeteria, 1200 E. Sixth St. The menu offers sausage and eggs and all the pancakes you can eat. Proceeds benefit Rotary Club projects. The Chinese auction will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $4 for children under 10.

Children invited to a Trunk-n-Treat at Bruster's Ice Cream

SALEM-Salem area children are invited to Trunk-n-Treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bruster's Ice Cream.

David Anderson High School Class of 1963 will meet

LISBON-David Anderson High School Class of 1963 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Taste of Country Restaurant.

SHS Key Club members will be collecting for UNICEF

SALEM-Salem High School Key Club members will be collecting for UNICEF from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday during trick or treat in Salem.

Members will be dressed in costumes, wearing UNICEF stickers, and carrying UNICEF donation boxes when they visit area homes. Monies collected will be used to support the Key Club's service project, "Operation Uruguay." Tri-County Chapter of Medical Assistants will meet

COLUMBIANA-The Tri-County Chapter of Medical Assistants will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at Prima HealthCare, 107 Royal Bickdale Drive. Steven M. DeMaiolo D.O., chief executive officer, will discuss "Electronic Medical Records in the Outpatient Setting." Students, associates and guests are welcome.

MetroParks' wood storage lot will be open Nov. 7-8

BOARDMAN-Mill Creek MetroParks' wood storage lot on West Golf Drive, just south of Stitt Pavilion, will be open on Nov. 7 and 8 for those wishing to cut and load firewood. There is no fee for the wood, but individuals must bring a chainsaw to cut and load their own wood. The lot will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No firewood can be removed from Mahoning County due to the quarantine for Emerald Ash Borer. Moving firewood illegally is punishable by fines of up to $4,000.

Only 15 vehicles will be allowed in the storage lot at any one time. Trucks larger than pick-up size are not allowed. Trailers attached to trucks are not allowed. Automobiles with trailers under eight feet are permissible. For more information, call the MetroParks at 330-702-3000.

SCC offering Red Cross lifeguard training course

SALEM-The Salem Community Center is offering an American Red Cross lifeguard training course from Nov. 9-20.

After completion of the two-week course, participants will be certified in lifeguard training, first aid, professional rescuer adult child and infant CPR, and AED essentials.

Classes are held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and limited to 10 students. Prerequisite information can be found at www.salemcommunitycenter.com. For further information or to register, call the Salem Community Center at 330-332-5885.
