COLUMBIANA-James L. Oswald, 80, of 331 W. Salem St., died on Wednesday at the Salem Care Center from complications of cancer.
Born Dec. 5, 1928, in Streetsboro, he was the son of Herbert E. and Cora (Hostetler) Oswald.
Mr. Oswald worked as a laborer and a truck driver for a commercial paving company in Akron for many years. In earlier years he worked for Mantua Grain Company and most recently had worked on the family farm and was a self-employed house painter. Mr. Oswald was a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include two sisters, Doris (Chester) Fath of Dalton, Marilyn (Glen) Miller of Indiana; two brothers, Edward Oswald of Oregon, Mervin (Norma) Oswald of Chicago, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Aldean Oswald of Aurora.
There will be no calling hours or services per Mr. Oswald's request.
Arrangements were handled by the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.
