5 hurt in Salem crash
SALEM- A three-vehicle crash on South Lincoln Avenue Wednesday afternoon sent five people to the hospital.
Officers responded to the intersection of South Lincoln and Summit Street at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday where a vehicle had traveled left of center while being struck from behind.
Casey J. Swiger, 23, of 37691 state Route 39, Salineville, was cited for traveling left of center after attempting to avoid a collision with a vehicle stopped northbound on Lincoln. In the attempt, Swiger collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Deidra M. Talbott, 25, of 36868 Hazel Run Road, Salineville, while simultaneously being struck from the rear by a vehicle driven by Bryan J. Soldo, 19, of Petersburg, Ohio, who was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Talbott and her passenger, Christopher S. Talbott, 25, of the same address, were transported by KLG Ambulance to the Salem Community Hospital for minor injuries.
Swiger and passengers Tracy L. Fleming, 36, of 37867 Glasgow Road, Lisbon, and an infant were transported by Salem EMT to the Salem Community Hospital for minor injuries, as well.
