Melissa Marie Yuschak weds Nickolas Joseph Thompson

Melissa Marie Yuschak and Nickolas Joseph Thompson exchanged wedding vows on June 20 at an outside ceremony at Tatar's Party Center in Akron.

The bride is the daughter of Michael Yuschak and Becky Yuschak, both of Akron.

The bridegroom is the son of Jack and Brenda Thompson of 1981 Southeast Blvd., Salem.

The Rev. Lynn Roules officiated at the couple's double-ring ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride appeared in a strapless, taffeta gown with crystal beading, silver rhinestones, and a semi-cathedral train. Pinned under her gown was a handkerchief that was given to her by the bridegroom's mother, made from the dress her mother wore in her wedding.

Her veil and headpiece was made by a family friend, Ingrid Kennedy. The ivory elbow-length veil was imbedded with rain drops.

She carried a bouquet of call lilies and ivory roses

The maid of honor was Michele Yuschak of Akron, the bride's sister, who was attired in a pool blue tea-length gown with spaghetti straps enhanced with a chocolate brown sash around the waist and a balloon hem.

Attired in gowns identical to the maid of honor were bridesmaids, Jessica Siegenthowle of Canal Fulton, Alison Shaffer of Hanoverton; Pamela Bennett, Suzameh Quilan, and Jessica Yuschak, the bride's sister-in-law, all of Akron; and April Webster of Cleveland, the bride's cousin.

Each attendant carried a bouquet of ivory lilies.

Flower girl was Savanna Webster, the bride's cousin.

Tae Pettit was the ring bearer.

Jason Thompson of Hanoverton, the bridegroom's brother, served as best man.

The bridegroom's attendants were Christopher Faehnle of New York, the bridegroom's cousin; Kyle Faehnle of Alberta, Canada, the bridegroom's cousin; Tom Johnson of Colorado; Michael Yuschak of Akron, the bride's brother; Lance Conaway of Lisbon; and Eric Burmann of Akron.

Approximately 140 guests attended the reception at Todaro's.

The newlyweds are planning a cruise in July 2010. They currently reside in Akron.

A special flower vase was arranged on the newlywed's table in loving memory of the bridegroom's brother, Tom Thompson.

The bride graduated in 2007 from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree of science in recreation with minor in psychology. She is employed as an activity coordinator at Copley Health Center in Copley.

The bridegroom is employed by Sterling Jewelers in Akron as a account representative.

The rehearsal dinner was held the night before the wedding at Spaghetti Warehouse. After dinner the couple was serenaded by William Darby of Akron on the guitar.
