Mr. and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Hinchliffe of Salem celebrated their 65th anniversary on Aug. 26.
Mr. Hinchliffe, who also celebrated his 85th birthday on Aug. 20, graduated from Salem High School in 1942 and retired from Electric Furnace in 1987. He also did hauling with his truck for many years.
Mrs. Hinchliffe also graduated from SHS in 1942. She retired from Salem China in 1987.
Mr. and Mrs. Hinchliffe have been active members of First Christian Church all their lives and also belong to United Commercial Travelers.
Their children and spouses are, Nancy (Cliff) Votaw, Larry (Gloria) Hinchliffe and Barry (Betty) Hinchliffe, all of Salem. They also have eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
Plans are made to further celebrate their anniversary and Mr. Hinchliffe's birthday on Labor Day with a picnic with family, including Mr. and Mrs. Philip Bishop of Florida, Mrs. Hinchliffe's brother and sister-in-law.
