NEW SPRINGFIELD-Ralph K. Dain Sr., 73, of New Springfield, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home.

Born May 1, 1936, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of John and Mabel (Woodcock) Dain Sr.

Mr. Dain was employed as an electrician for Youngstown Sheet & Tube and Chrysler Corp in Twinsburg, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana. During Vietnam he served in the Navy and was honorably discharged after 22 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, the former, Barbara Tims, whom he married Feb. 27, 1960; four daughters, Sandra Hoff and Deborah Ritchey, both of Columbiana, Karin (Tim) Weingart of Hurricane, W.Va., and Kelli (Steve) Nyers of Columbiana; a son, Ralph K. (Tennille) Dain Jr. of Archer, Fla.; a sister, Beverly Milnick of Baden, Pa.; and 14 grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana with the Rev. Thomas G. Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery where the Benjamin Firestone Post #290, American Legion will accord military honors.

Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
