LISBON - In county Municipal Court on Thursday, a Salem man was sentenced to 10 days in the county jail for OVI second offense.

Additionally, John Spence, 29, West Wilson Street, was fined $800 and had his driver's license suspended for one year on that charge and charges of hit-skip and failure to control.

James Whirrett, 40, Canterbury Court, Columbiana, pleaded not guilty to OVI third offense and marked lanes; pretrial Sept. 29.

Douglass Orr, 37, West Pershing Street, Salem, was sentenced to 10 days in the county jail, was fined $560 and had his driver's license suspended for six months for OVI first offense, speeding and a seat belt violation.

Jeffrey Linam II, 23, North Market Street, was sentenced to 10 days in the county jail and was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

Michael Parker II, 18, Lotze Drive, East Palestine, was sentenced to three days of traffic school, was fined $330 and had his driver's license suspended for six months for OVI underage, amended from OVI first offense; speeding and a seatbelt violation.

Anna Vyse, 36, 12th Street, Homeworth, pleaded not guilty to OVI first offense and reckless operation; pretrial Sept. 28.

John Cataldo Jr., 65, Riverside Street, Wellsville, pleaded not guilty to OVI first offense, a turn signal violation and a seat belt violation; pretrial Oct. 8.

Kristina Hickman, 27, state Route 39, Wellsville, pleaded not guilty to two counts of cruelty to animals; probable cause hearing Aug. 31. Hickman is accused of confining a puppy outdoors without a sufficient quantity of wholesome food or water or shelter from wind, snow or rain. The puppy was found hanging by a leash from the porch.

Tremayne Davis, 35, Eighth Street, Wellsville, pleaded no contest to theft; sentencing Sept. 22. Davis took a six-pack of beer from Rich Oil, Wellsville, without paying.

David Foreman Jr., 29, Prospect Street Extension, Salem, pleaded no contest to theft; sentencing Oct. 1. Foreman took merchandise valued at $397 before taxes from the Salem Wal-Mart without paying.

David Huffman, 24, Canton, pleaded not guilty to driving under suspension; pretrial Sept. 28.

Colleen Cope, 41, East Fifth Street, Salem, pleaded not guilty to passing bad checks; pretrial Sept. 15.

John Blankenship, 43, Columbia Street, Salem, pleaded not guilty to obstructing official business and disorderly conduct; pretrial Oct. 1.

Michelle Paradine, 31, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct, amended from theft.

James May, 39, Niles, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct, amended from telephone harrassment.

Slade Brandle, 49, Rose Avenue, Salem, pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct; pretrial Sept. 29.

Michael Liston, 49, North Union Street, Salem, was fined $50 for speeding, amended from reckless operation.

Elridge Stoudt, 52, Butler, Pa., was fined $35 for commercial speeding.

Kenneth Gordon Jr., 24, Somer Street, was fined $35 for commercial speeding.

Larry Macklin Jr., 28, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $30 for open container.

William Martz, 20, Crestview Road, Columbiana, was fined $30 for unsafe vehicle, amended from assured clear distance ahead.

Jacob Maendel, 78, Alliance, was fined $30 for improper backing.
