EAST PALESTINE-Shirley Simon, 67, of 150 S. Pleasant Drive, died late Wednesday evening, Aug. 5, at the home of her son.

Born Feb. 11, 1942, in Rochester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George and Rebecca (Taggart) Dickson.

Mrs. Simon had been employed with the Medical Center of Beaver County, and more recently as a visiting nurse with the Upjohn Company. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, William J. Simon, whom she married on June 26, 1968, preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2008.

She is survived by a son, John D. (Gina) Simon of Rochester Hills, Mich.; a daughter, Sandra (David) Rose, Moon Township, Pa.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Free of East Palestine and Duira McFarland of Hubbard.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Donald Aull officiating.
