Cari Sanchez becomes bride of Philip Potter

Cari Sanchez of Salem and Philip Potter of Atlantic Beach, Fla., were married at 3 p.m. May 2 at the Oldest House and Gardens in Saint Augustine, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Pamela and Vincent Sanchez of Columbiana. She is the granddaughter of Opal and Donald Martin of Salem, who attended the wedding, and Cora and Agustin Sanchez of Struthers. The bride graduated from Salem High School, where she was valedictorian, and Boston College, where she earned a bachelor's of science in marketing. She is pursuing a master's degree in gastronomy at the University of Adelaide/Le Cordon Bleu in Adelaide, South Australia.

The bridegroom is the son of Lauren and Steven Potter of Atlantic Beach, Fla. He is the grandson of Patricia and Philip A. Potter of Queensbury, N.Y., who attended the wedding; Patricia Firth of Glen Falls, N.Y., and the late Richard V. Firth. The bridegroom graduated from Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, earned his bachelor's of arts degree in history and English from Boston College, and recently completed his master's in business administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales, in Sydney, Australia.

The bridegroom's sister, Meghan Timcke, was the maid of honor. His brother, Sean Sullivan, was the best man.

Bridesmaids included the bride's cousin, Jessica Gleckler; the bridegroom's sister-in-law, Jennifer Law Sullivan; Jacqueline Donahue and Susan Tkatch were the bridesmaids.

Josh Goodman, Brent Shore Jr., Ryan Simpkins and Christian Summers were the groomsmen. The bride's cousin, Paisley Martin, was the flower girl, and the bridegroom's nephew, Daniel Sullivan, was the ring bearer.

The bride wore her mother's wedding dress for the ceremony. A sit-down dinner and dance reception followed at the Casa Monica Hotel in historic St. Augustine. Entertainment was provided by the band The Committee.Desserts were baked and prepared by the bride to represent each of the seven countries in which the bride and bridegroom have lived during their seven-year relationship. Guests came from as far as Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington, Cleveland, Charleston and Atlanta.

The couple honeymooned in Switzerland and Italy and will live in St. Augustine.
