James Earl Black
COLUMBIANA - James Earl Black, 64 of Windrose Court, Columbiana, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cleveland.
Mr. Black was born on Sept. 9, 1944 in Salem, the son of the late Earl J. and Mabel A. Wire Black.
He worked as a molder at Albco Foundry in Lisbon, Ohio for 18 years. He also was a herdsman in Muskingum County.
Mr. Black attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in New Springfield. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He was a 1963 graduate of East Palestine High School.
Survivors include a daughter Gaynelle (Dan) Price of Byesville, OH; a son James (Patty) Black of East Palestine; two sisters Evelyn (Frank) Nulf of Columbiana and Roberta (Raymond) Rohm of East Palestine;and two grandchildren.
Mr. Black was preceded in death by two sisters Marjorie Jean Black and Betty Lou Whitfield.
Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in New Springfield with Rev. Mary Murtha and Rev. Dr. Galen Black officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in New Springfield.
The American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post # 290 of Columbiana will conduct a military honor service at the conclusion of the memorial service at the church.
The family suggests that material tributes be made to Columbiana County Veterans Administration. Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana handled the arrangements.
