Banquet in Salem
SALEM-The Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building. Friends of the Banquet will volunteer and serve the dinner which offers meat loaf, cheesy potatoes, peas, applesauce, vegetables, fruit and ice cream sundaes.
Friends of the Banquet sponsor the meal when a weekly sponsor is not on the schedule. "This gap in our schedule reaffirms the need for additional sponsors for both the Monday and fourth Thursday events," said Pastor Lou Raymond, chairman of sponsors. Interested sponsors are asked to call 330-337-3125.
Hot lunches
SALEM-Free, hot lunches will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Salvation Army, 1249 N. Ellsworth Ave. The meal includes a main dish, side dish and beverage. For information call 330-332-5624.

SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1944 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. July 6 at The Center, 525 E. Second St.
Age discrimination
NILES-An age discrimination presentation will be held on July 21 at Ciminero's Banquet Center, 123 N. Main St. Registration and lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. with the program to follow from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Attorneys Shirley J. Christian and Carmen V. Codjoe will discuss age discrimination and some best practices for employers. Cost is $20 for chamber members and $25 for prospective chamber members. This program has been approved for 1.5 credit hours toward the PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification and is hosted by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Poker run set
LEETONIA-The Leetonia Little Bears are holding a poker run/scavenger hunt on July 25 to raise money to help with operating costs for the season. Registration is from 11 a.m. to noon at the Franklin Square Baseball Fields with first person out at noon. Cost for the poker run is $10 per rider and $5 per passenger. Cost for the scavenger hunt is $10 per participant. The rain date is Aug. 1. For information email sbriand75@msn.com.
