BOARDMAN - Consign & Design was established in April of this year and will open its doors to the public on Thursday, June 18 at a new location of 50 Boardman-Canfield Rd. (Rt. 224) in Boardman, near the Southern Park Mall.
Store owners and partners, Diane Young and Stacey Duber, both originally from Salem, have worked to create a very distinctive personality for this unique consignment shop.
Featuring gently-used furniture and home accessories, along with a small amount of distinctive clothing, Consign & Design offers a charming, eclectic environment for fun and relaxed shopping.
"Customers are already commenting on the quality of our merchandise", said Duber.
"Our consignors bring us the highest quality and in turn will receive the maximum return on their merchandise," added Young.
In addition to the consignment items, the store will also offer interior decorating/designing services in which Duber and Young each have a background. The store will have a design area showcasing samples of wall coverings, floor coverings, granite, and paint colors, all available to purchase through the store.
"We want to be one-stop shopping here" said Duber. "We even provide a carpenter for hire for remodels, etc."
"A furniture consignment store is not unusual in other areas, however, in our area it seems to be a relatively new concept which is applicable and conducive to the times and the economy. We want to facilitate shoppers to still enjoy their habit without spending too much." said Young.
"We want to give them a bigger bang for their buck. And it gives people a place to bring their used items for us to sell for them which allows them to make some money too"
Store hours will be: Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p/m.; and Sundays, 1-5 p.m.
