Lloyd David Longanecker
COLUMBIANA- Lloyd David Longanecker, 89, of 2231 Lower Elkton Road, Columbiana, formerly of Kingwood Drive, Columbiana, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1920, in East Lewistown, Ohio, the son of the late David Simeon and Susanna Rosetta Coy Longanecker.
A graduate of North Lima High School, Longanecker retired from the Ohio Turnpike in 1984, working at the Canfield Maintenance Building 8 for 27 years as a maintenance mechanic. Previously, he had worked at General Fireproofing, as a millwright for John Deere and as a mechanic for Boardman-Poland School Bus Garage.
He was a member of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren in Columbiana.
Longanecker is survived by his wife, the former Muriel Henrietta Barnhart, whom he married Oct. 18, 1957; a daughter, Carla Susan Hatch; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren with the Rev. John Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren. Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana entrusted with the arrangements.
