Elmer Good
ORRVILLE - Elmer Good, 92, of Orrville, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Orrville on June 9, 1916, the son of Benjamin and May (Rohrer) Good. At the age of two years his birthmother died. His father then married Martha (Hoover) Good of Goshen, Ind.
On Jan. 16, 1943, he married Esther Good of Wadsworth. She survives. Elmer had lived in the Orrville/Dalton area all his life, where he served as a lifelong farmer. He was a member of County Line Mennonite Church, where he served as pastor since 1946.
Surviving are seven children, Milton (Ruth) Good of Dalton, Eldon Good of the home, Ann (Wilbur) Steiner of Smithville, May (Darry) Neuenschwander of Dalton, Elmer Dean (Wanda) Good of Oconto, Wisc., Norma (Wain) Neuenschwander of Orrville, Gloria (Michael) VanPelt of Columbiana; 43 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jason (Beulah) Good of Rittman; three sisters, Emma Ruth Weaver of Columbiana, Mary Catherine Witmer of Sparta, Tenn., and Miriam (Luke) Rhodes of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at County Line Mennonite Church, 19199 Church Road, Dalton, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will take place at the adjoining cemetery.
Friends may call at County Line Mennonite Church from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight and from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
