Joseph G. Yuhaniak
SALEM - Joseph G. Yuhaniak, 85, of 525 N. Lincoln Ave., Salem died at 10:25 p.m. on Thursday at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Feb. 29, 1924 in Amsterdam, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas L. and Marianna (Sarvas) Yuhaniak Sr.
Mr. Yuhaniak had been employed at Lincoln Machine for 50 years as General Manager and Cylinder Consultant.
He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and a 1941 graduate of Salem High School.
Joe was also a member of the United Commercial Travelers of Salem and the Salem AMVETS Post 45. He served two years in the U.S. Army.
Joe was an avid follower of both the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.
Survivors include two brothers, Alex T. (Bea) Yuhaniak and John J. (Donna) Yuhaniak, and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers preceded him in death, Thomas Yuhaniak and Dr. Leonard Yuhaniak.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery with full military services provided by Salem V.F.W. Post 892 and the Salem AMVETS Post 45 Burial Group.
