Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lane of 70 Case Road, Beloit, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 5 and will also celebrate their 80th birthdays this year.
The former Janice Wyss and Mr. Lane were united in marriage on Feb. 5, 1949, at the Bethel United Church of Christ parsonage in Alliance by the Rev. Stanley Hartman.
They will be celebrating with their children Dennis (Darlene) Lane of Beloit, Richard (Mary) Lane of Mountaintop, Pa., Barry (Beth) Lane of Salem, Linda Buttermore of Canfield, Jill (Tim) Bahler of Wooster, and Judy (Rex) Spaulding of Canfield, along with their 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. They reside and have always lived in the Westville Lake area.
Mr. Lane is a retired grocery store manager and former owner of the Beloit Quaker City IGA. He was also a West Branch School board member, Damascus Ruritan member, Hot Stove League baseball manager and served in the military (Army Air Corp).
Mrs. Lane worked in food preparation for the West Branch School System and retired from the Beloit Quaker City IGA as office clerk. She loves to cook, sing, play piano and enjoys attending musicals and sporting events.
The Lanes are both 1947 graduates of Goshen High School and are members of Bethel UCC, True Followers Fellowship Group, Damascus Historical Society and Mile Branch Grange.
