Tyson and Sue DeLoach of Salem celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Dec. 6. In honor and recognition of the occasion, the couple renewed their wedding vows at the church in which they were married, the Cathedral of Saint Frances de Sales in Houma, La. The renewal ceremony was conducted by a very influential spiritual mentor from Mrs. DeLoach's formative years, His Excellency, the Most Rev. Joseph Nunzio Latino, Bishop of Jackson, Miss.
In formal attire and carrying a hand-tied bouquet of yellow roses, Mrs. DeLoach was escorted into the cathedral by the couple's grandson Casey DeLoach. Near the conclusion of the service two red roses were presented to her by the couple's granddaughters, Emily Barker and Alidone DeLoach. Unfortunately, the couple's youngest son, Seth, and his wife Kata, could not be present for the occasion but he was present in spirit and in voice. As Mrs. DeLoach placed the red roses on the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a rendition of "Ave Maria" filled the spacious cathedral as a recording that Seth made expressly for the occasion was played for his parents and the assembled guests.
Family and friends joined the couple for the ceremony in the cathedral and at a reception immediately following at the home of Mrs. DeLoach's brother, Michael Fabregas. The reception was hosted by two of the couple's three sons and daughters-in-law, Grady and Amy DeLoach, Robert and Sheena DeLoach and by Mrs. DeLoach's brothers and their spouses, Louis and Robin Fabregas and Michael and Janice Fabregas.
