Salem

Neighbor dispute

At 1:48 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 700 block of N. Union Ave. where the complainant advised his neighbor yelled and allegedly threatened him for plowing snow into or near his curblawn. Officers advised the complainant not to plow across the street and keep it in his yard and he agreed. Officers spoke with the other subject who alleged the other remarked he would "shoot" him.

Criminal damage

At 12:08 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland St. where the complainant advised his yard was damaged, apparently by a truck that drove into the curblawn leaving large amounts of dirt, grass, snow and ruts.

Shoplifter

At 12:12 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the Walmart store and arrested Melvin A. and Frances N. Brewster of North Benton for theft. The female removed a watch from a display and attempted to remove the display card and was unable to and gave it to the male subject. He took it to the hardware department and removed it and threw it behind some merchandise. After the couple paid for other merchandise and were leaving they were stopped by security.

Graffiti

At 8:17 a.m. Thursday, police received a report on station from a resident in the 300 block of Ash St. where the complainant advised a black "joke" had been painted on the garage.

Telephone harassment

At 2:32p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Blvd. where the complainant advised of receiving unwanted calls from outside the United States that promised her a large amount of money if she would send $1,000. The callers wanted her SSN and bank account numbers and she refused to provide information.

Loud person

At 3:17 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1400 block of E. State St. after receiving a complaint of a vehicle horn that could be heard continuously. Officers located a male subject behind the drivers seat in the vehicle. He was awakened and intoxicated. The subject was at his brother's residence and stayed there.

Telephone harassment

At 4:48 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1600 block of E. State St. where the complainant advised of receiving a phone message from a supervisor at her former job accusing her of stealing newspapers and tips along a route in the city. The complainant denied the allegations and wanted documentation.

Harassment

At 5:01 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of Aetna St. where a female complainant advised her daughter's ex-boyfriend was at the residence and had made unwanted calls. Police spoke with him and advised him his calls were unwanted and he was unwelcome at the complainant's residence.

Juvenile

At 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1400 block of Ridgewood Dr. for a report of an unruly juveniles. The complainant wanted to file charges on her sons and police also advised two other juveniles there to cease.
