Dorothy and Henry Zimmerman of South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 15 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Robert Field, also of Salem.
The party was hosted by their children, the Fields, Jeffrey and Kathy (Boyle) Zimmerman of Salem, Ann (Zimmerman) and William Brougham of Falls Church, Va., and Peter and Sandy (Mack) Zimmerman of Corvalis, Mont.
The party was attended by many friends and family including their niece, Jody Evans of Washington, D.C., and four grandchildren, Benjamin Field of Seattle, Wash., Abby Zimmerman of Akron, Anna Zimmerman of Salem and Meghan Zimmerman of Missoula, Mont.
The former Dorothy Hjordes Longley and Mr. Zimmerman were married on Nov. 27, 1948, in Montclair, N.J., by the Rev. Norman Fletcher in the Unitarian Church. After a honeymoon in Chicago, they came back to Salem where they have lived and raised their family for the last 60 years.
