Ralph "Ike" and Juanita (Provan) Carson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 25. They were married in 1958 at First Presbyterian Church in New Philadelphia, Ohio, by the Rev. Leslie E. Pritchard Jr.
Mr. Carson, son of the late Harold and Pearl Carson, is a 1952 graduate of Bergholz High School. He served two years in the U.S. Army, 10 years as a trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and retired from United Telephone (Sprint) in Mansfield in 1996.
Mrs. Carson, daughter of the late Bill and Eleanore Provan, is a 1955 graduate of New Philadelphia High.
She was employed at the former First National Bank in Salem, retired from the First National Bank in Shelby in 1996, and is an active volunteer with the Lambda Chi Omega Sorority.
The Carsons raised their four children in Carrollton, Salem and Shelby. They are, Scott (Cheryl) of Lancaster; Cathy of Powell; Brian
( Holly) of Galion and Caren (Eric) of Shelby. They enjoy traveling and are devoted grandparents to their seven grandchildren.
