David F. Brown

NEW SPRINGFIELD-David F. Brown, 57, of New Springfield, died on Thursday at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boardman campus, following a brief illness.

Born Dec. 26, 1950, in Youngstown, he was the son of Oliver and Grace (Townsend) Brown.

Mr. Brown was employed by Professional Engine Service of Canfield as a generator specialist for eight years. Prior to that he worked at Power Equipment of Youngstown.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Davis) Brown, whom he married on March 26, 2004; a daughter, Charlene M. Brown of Boardman; a son, D. Bradley (Mindy) Brown of Silver City, New Mexico; three stepchildren, Shelly (Bill) Trapp of New Galilee, Pa., Marcia Moss of Wellsville and Raymond (Lori) Moss of New Springfield; three sisters, Rebecca (Preston) Bell of Chambersburg, Pa., Elaine (Pete) Guy of Leetonia and Peggy (Keith) Bonner of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, William O. (Linda) Brown of Gibsonville, N. C.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Material contributions may be made to the New Springfield Veterans of Foreign Wars building fund in his name.
