Julie Ann Alderete weds Robert ‘Bo’ Rottenborn

Julie Ann Alderete became the bride of Robert "Bo" Rottenborn on Jan. 5 at Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcal' in San Diego, Calif.

Deacon Ernest Grosso officiated during the couple's double-ring ceremony at 2 p.m. in the first church in the state of California.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward Alderete of Saratoga, Calif. The bridegroom's parents are Dr. and Mrs. Joe Rottenborn of 925 Home Circle, Salem.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She appeared in an ivory French taffeta, A-line, full-length gown featuring off-the-shoulder, long sleeves beaded with Swarovski crystals, a pleated waistline, beaded side appliques, and a chapel-length train, completed by a cathedral-length veil in ivory tulle veil with Swarovski crystal detail.

She carried a cascading bouquet of black magic roses and burgundy orchids, accented by ivory roses, ivory gardenias, and gold leaves.

Natalie Alderete of San Francisco, the bride's oldest sister, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Michelle Alderete of San Diego, the bride's sister; Bridget McEvoy-Hein of New Orleans, Brittney Paulsen of Saratoga, Calif., and Mary Rottenborn of Salem, the bridegroom's sister.

Her attendants were attired in strapless, A-line, floor-length, currant taffeta gowns featuring pleated bodices and waistlines with cascading sashes down the back center.

The maid of honor and bridesmaids carried similar bouquets of ivory roses and ivory gardenias, accented by burgundy hydrangeas and burgundy gerbera daisies.

Annika Ostberg, 4, of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter of the bride's cousin, was the flower girl. Emma Ostberg, 8, also the daughter of the bride's cousin from Anchorage, was a junior bridesmaid.

Craig Veon of Columbus served as the best man.

Groomsmen included Martin Lopez of Baltimore, Keith Mancuso of Homer City, Pa., the bridegroom's cousin; Tony Mancuso of Sharpsville, Pa., the bridegroom's cousin; and Adam Porcelli, of Washington, D.C.

Adam Ostberg, 6, of Anchorage, son of the bride's cousin, was the ring bearer.

Approximately 100 guests attended the reception at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club.

The bride graduated from the University of Notre Dame and is a marketing representative for LH International Promotionz in San Diego, Calif.

The bridegroom, a 1999 graduate of Salem High School, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. He is employed as a managing editor for CBS College Sports Network (formerly College Sports Television) in Carlsbad, Calif.

Following a honeymoon with stops at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., and in Kihei on the Hawaiian island of Maui, the couple will reside at 6542 Reflection Drive, Apt. 1142 in San Diego, Calif.
