Robert Eugene Beeson

SALEM - Robert Eugene Beeson, 77, of Salem, died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown.

Born Aug. 6, 1930 in Wilkinsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert and Eleanor Lasser Beeson.

Robert retired in 1996 after 14 years with the Ryder Truck Rental Co. in Columbus, Ohio where he was employed as a shop foreman. He previously worked 18 years at Saunders Truck Rental.

He was a member of the Columbiana Baptist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor E. (Wooten) Beeson, whom he married July 8, 1950; three sons, Robert H. (Toni) Beeson Jr. of Salem, Joseph (Becky) Beeson of Singapore and Jimmy (Jill) Beeson of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Yvonne Sueumn of Mountain Home, Idaho; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter Zina Michelle Beeson; one brother, Albert Beeson III; and one sister, Shelby Dimko.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Stark Memorial with Rev. Ken Clark officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
