Rose Anne Slavens

YOUNGSTOWN- Rose Anne Slavens, 81, died Wednesday at the Hospice House.

Born March 5, 1927 in East Palestine, Slavens was a daughter of the late Rocco Soldo and Maria Del'Aquila.

In her career, she worked as a secretary at the Automatic Sprinkler Corp. of America and the Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, a typist and secretary at Youngstown State University and various restaurants.

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church .

She is survived by five children, Patti (Dave) Rocknic of Austintown, Michael Slavens of San Diego, Ca., Brian (Kathy) Slavens of Boardman, Kevin Slavens of Wisconsin and attorney Kathleen Slavens (Tim) Robins of Arkansas; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Soldo of East Palestine and Nino (Donna) Soldo of Clermont, Fla.; and two sisters, Dina Bozick of Lisbon and Edie (Al) Ragghanti of Liberty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Davis and Natalie Ritchie, and a brother, Patsy Soldo.

Prayers begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, with internment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
