Donald “Buzz” McCord

WOOSTER —Donald “Buzz” McCord, 78, of Wooster died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at his residence.

Don was born Dec. 22, 1929 in Salineville to Donald and Dorothy (Bettis) McCord. He graduated from Salineville High School. He married Meda Hirst on June 25, 1948.

Upon his retirement in 1991 from Crane-Deming in Salem, he moved to Wooster. He was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Summitville. Don coached Little League, was active in sports, and enjoyed photography and landscaping.

His devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren was remarkable. Don will be missed by his wife, Meda McCord; son, John (Laura) McCord of Wooster; daughter, Julie Pendleton of Louisville; and grandchildren, Andrew, Alex and Jordan McCord; Jessica Kevan and Brett Pendleton; a sister, Betty Kerr of Salineville; and a special niece, Debbie (Tom) Hays of Salineville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating. Cremation has taken place and a private internment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Salineville. Online tributes may be sent to www.robertsfuneralhome.com.
