US policy on Iraq out and out crazy

July 1, 2014

Americans should be worried about the war in Iraq, for various reasons. One concern is that the Sunni army assaulting Iraq’s Shiite-controlled government may interrupt oil shipment....

"Also I did find it hilarious that the Johnson GOP head article was locked for comments since he controls the Ogden 3 in this county. "

A sort invasion of millions of illegass... I'd say the attack began long ago. Our Republicans just don't have the cajones to do something about it.

And with reports of persons who speak a middle Eastern language entering Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California. what's the President going to do?

Well he's going to attend three fundraisers...what on earth is he raising money for when the border is burning?

“Assessing and advising and enabling are very different words than attacking, defeating and disrupting,” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey told reporters at the Pentagon.

“We may get to that point if our national interests drive us there, if ISIL becomes such a threat to the homeland that the president of the United States decides that we have to take direct action,” Gen. Dempsey said. “I’m just suggesting to you we’re not there yet.”

His remarks follow significant hand-wringing by administration critics who argue the Pentagon lacks a clear strategy.

A total mess with no clear lines and an Administration with no idea what to do...my thoughts are to build a wall between Mexico, build the Keystone pipeline, mine lots of coal, drill for as much gas and oil as we can and watch for the attack.

I've bee asked to respond...so here goes.

First, there was ample intelligence from our own experts as well as our closet allies that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and the Hussein was killing his people. Following 9/11, it's easy to understand how we got drawn into Iraq and yet hindsight is always better and there are those who G.W. couldn't please if he were the guy delivering the check from Publisher's Clearinghouse.

But, now that we have an even bigger mess and no idea who is entering our country from the South...(continued)...

Is it not odd that Assad is helping Iraq, Russia and Iran, who opposed us doing anything to help against Assad, are helping Iraq, and we still have people there to help Iraq, so now, in Iraq, we are working with Assad, Russia and Iran.

Doesn't all that seem weird?

"Israel don't put up with*****from anybody and we better get off butts and back them at a moments notice "

Obama does not like Israel.

We should build a fence like theirs on our southern border. They patrol it, and anyone trying to climb it gets a bullet. That will stop the soft invasion we are facing now.

I wasn't bad-mouthing the president. Was just saying that when something bad does happen, everyone will be all over him. After something happens everyone is all "if only he'd..." The coulda woulda shoulda arm chair quarterbacks. Doesn't matter who the president is.

On Monday, Russian television trumpeted the arrival of the first 5 of 12 promised Sukhoi Su-25 combat fighter jets to the Iraqi government, saying it had also sent “trainers” to help the Iraqis use them.

So our friends Iran and Russia are helping them.

I just don't think we are going to come out of this well.

I do believe there will be an Armageddon in the Mideast; I just don't know if as a country we'll be around much after it, or if we are, how decimated we'll be, because while I do agree with rpmwwe, I also am more pessimistic about what this bodes for us.

Sorry, I wish I didn't feel that way. I wish I could just say "let them kill each other off and we'll be better off" but I don't think so.

The only thing we need to prepare for is protecting our country ,it's citizens and out allies.

This will work itself out without the help of the J.McCains ,L,Grahams and Sen. Avotti.

We got*****to protect ourselves nobody even knows about.

I don't think doing something or doing nothing at this point matters. All the pieces are on the board and the game is in play. The Sunnis and Shiites are on a collision course for a major war across the entire region that will not end until one side absolutely dominates the other. The only question we have to answer is "What are we doing right now to prepare for the aftermath?" We should be concerning ourselves with obtaining oil from alternative sources, fortifying Israel so we will at least have the appearance to our other allies we tried, and the general public should start being prepared for the day when it will not be okay to travel to or from the region for any reason in order to reduce security threats (such as another 9/11). Waiting this out to see how it goes is foolishness. We know where this is going.

Yeah, just read the story about that girl from CO.

But that's what I mean. In this day and age, battles are not limited to regions.

I don't know what our role should be. But I'm pretty sure at some point not too far down the road were gonna have a small scale 9/11. And then we'll all be second guessing--if Obama had done this then, etc. Do we just not fight it until something happens?

News yesterday, today talk of heightened security at international airports because of credible threats to the US.

BBC News mentions Syrian and Yemen bomb makers working together to build a bomb that would be undetected by current airport scanners. (They've already done so--in printer cartridges, the underwear bomb, etc)

And Yemen is a country where we are using drones to kill jihadists. Do you think we should continue or stop that?

Apperantly they have found a better way to make bombs more undetectable so they can get them on airplanes.

Wonderful.

But, they're not going to be happy limiting their killing to the Mideast.

Already they're not--wasn't the guy who shot the Jews in Brussels a part of one of these groups?

Why do we have to stick our nose in every battle ?

Defend our allies and our country period.

As far as killing each other off. This crap being going on for thousands of years, Life has no value over there.

"I have to state for the record that I do Not like the "let them kill each other off" philosophy. "

It's either that, or we choose a side and go in again. Quite frankly, I'm tired of the trouble our Country gets into when dealing with them.
