The city allowed those slippery bricks to be put in (and charged each property owner downtown for the "service"). I agree with rpmwwe, if they say the owners are responsible for them it could get very interesting.

Are they responsible for the trees planted in the sidewalks as well?

That should have been "Now", not "No".

The city continues its policy of building new sidewalks in locations where there were no sidewalks before and ignoring the broken sidewalks that already exist.

No there is going to be a dispute over who actually owns the sidewalks in front of the downtown businesses as nobody really seems to know. If the city wants to claim the business owners own the sidewalks in front of their businesses then they are about to open a huge can of worms.

I think pavers were used in the street at State and Broadway intersections and had to be removed. Don't know who paid for that tho--and that's assuming I'm remembering correctly.

I miss the old stone sidewalks in the neighborhoods... nothing could make the ol' Stingray slick screech like those :)

I guess the last time we did a downtown beautification project things didn't work out so well. What was it 15 years ago.The pavers didn't work out so well.So the city is going to have to spend money to fix the problem?
