Scott, as long as your supporters use arguments like "you're both idiots !!! " in response to other comments, especially with no further explanation, you are going to have a real difficult time breaking down the stereotypes. I would have no comment at all had that not been posted.

"The person with the neck tattoos is the one paying taxes, and supporting our community"

Not the ones I have encounters with. They are typically unemployed or have a sketchy work history. Just because they cough up a few extra bucks to cover the sales tax at your shop doesn't mean we owe them a debt of gratitude.

"I have not just neck but face tattoos and probably go home on the weekends with more money in pocket then your pay check."

I stand corrected. Those with neck tattoos are committed to a life of poverty, OR they are committed to being a tattoo artist.

Either way, options are few.

You assumed incorrectly.

I and many I know are patrons of the Tattoos shop that you are all making comments about. I assure you that this has nothing to do with any competition. I work in the medical field and I can't begin to tell you how sick you can get from a tattoo if not done correctly and in a clean environment. Why would you allow someone to put anything that wasn't clean near let alone in your body? Why would you want someone that is impaired to attempt to do a tattoo that is going to be a permanent thing on your body? I have never met more kind and caring people than those that work at State Street Tattoo. They are a group of very talented artists that care about their community. IMO They are the best in the area. Clean , safe and drug free. Willing to donate to help those in need. You can judge them anyway you want, obviously but, you would be wrong. Keep up the great work that you are all doing and thank you Scott for being the voice.

In Portsmouth, England, a bunch of the guys from the ship decided to go get tattoos. I thought about it, but it's not really my thing.

My friend Beal got a big ol' eagle on his arm, quite proud of it. Of course I said I'd like to see it when he asked. When I did, then I asked him: "Beal, what's a 'free brid'"?

At least the artist fixed it for free :)

If any of you have a problem with what I am doing. Then you are welcome to join us at the next board of heath meeting to state your case. Id love to hear how you can change things, with your vast knowledge of an industry none of you work in. Thank you.

First if all "watchdog" business is very good, and this has nothing to do with competition. We are not trying to keep anyone out of town. We feel even at state level that the codes could be more strict as far as public safety. As for you "eat the rich" by making cleaner safer tattoo environments we are literally cleaning up the city. Maybe instead of sitting at your computer complaining you should get out and do something about it. Like we are. ANd as for you "RPMWWE" I'm assuming that the WWE is a wrestling thing, which aready explains so much. But just to let you now, that I have not just neck but face tattoos and probably go home on the weekends with more money in pocket then your pay check. Dont judge. The person with the neck tattoos is the one paying taxes, and supporting our community. we decided to go to the board with hopes of making better tattoo standards. We are out there help our community, buying local, and supporting small business.

How about just a commitment to a life of poverty with a neck tattoo?

Just curious, how many people here have more than 50% of their bodies covered in ink?

I agree with Sniper. I don't believe,at all, that this is a profit issue; he works for the best shop in town. This is someone trying to get safer regulations for his industry. It's a shame people have to put down others without knowing them or their motivations.

I for one find it commendable he should as for tighter regs. Knowing the Guappone family for many years I can assure you it's not for his profit. I my self dislike tats. But I admire the skill and work that goes into them. Also the risk of getting them done by unskilled people. For those that dont know, people come from miles for a good safe artist, and profits are made by being good. Not by competition. Eattherich i agree some other laws need tightened and enforced too! But this is about health no looks. And health should always be first priority.
