The truth comes out.. A private citizen has made a request .

So now we can rewrite the housing codes for 1 person.

I completely agree with notSocialist on this one. And ladybug's response to changing zoning for ONE person's request. TOTALLY uncalled for. Go to the commerical shooting range already set up in this community!! This cannot be anything good down the line. Why does this council even address this?? ..... AND .... We can approve a shooting range for ONE citizen, but we can't address the issue of one of the councilmen for his ward.

I see no problem changing the wording of the zoning code. They are still going to make sure it's so expensive and complicated to install an indoor, residential range that no one will do it except maybe the original requestor.

Ladybug sez: "The truth comes out.. A private citizen has made a request ."

What exactly did you think it was before the shocking "TRUTH" came out? An alien from mars swooped down and made this request?

Ladybug sez: "So now we can rewrite the housing codes for 1 person.

As for the "we" paleface, YOU are not rewriting anything. We, as in Salem, not Perry Township, is rewriting legislation that covers and entire City and not just for that lone private citizen that for some unknown reason has your little feathers ruffled over.

What does that mean? What bad do you foresee?

Do I as a citizen of Salem want to deny avid law abiding Hunters and gun enthusiasts the right to have an indoor residential range in the privacy of their own home and have that governed with legislation, OR,

do I as a citizen want to allow meth heads shooting into hay bales next to their meth labs in their basements WITHOUT any legislation?

Hmmmmm....such a tough decision.

Watchdog why do you always have to be a wise ass?

Reads the Art.

2 out of the 4 proposals will have to go to the planning commission to make changes in the zoning codes.

Second of all SA I never said anything about denying anyone anything.

Except I find it strange their willing to make changes on 1 request.

And just how do you think could afford such a thing in a city where the avg, family income is $30+ thousand. So you know it's being done at the request of some money person.

You don't see the point of it at all do you. So the city of Salem makes changes in it's zoning code to satisfy one person ..

Whats the next person going to ask for and will you deny them ?

Ladybug, unless YOU can offer up a list of cons to this legislation that would outweigh the Pros of this legislation that City Council can take into consideration before this legislation is passed then do it and make sure you do it with factual supporting evidence.

In the meantime, put up or shut up.
