I certainty hope they used a different application/slag then what was done on my road. Nothing like living on a dirt road with the dust flying everywhere. Wasted all this money to have the gravel end up in our yards.... Yep chip and seal *****! They said it was cheaper then black top. But yet when you have to re due it how does that save money. Their solution... We will sweep the loose gravel off.. But who's going to rake it out of our yards. Can't wait until I mow again and have to worry about chucking stones everywhere... Poor choice of road surface....oh and the buckets of steel that was mixed in with the slag. They said it was filtered through a magnet, to bad stainless is non magnetic, might have worked... What about the wasted time and money to begin with? ...

"Someone", is and should be held accountable for the NON-responsive action that lead to the death of that individual. It's CRIMINAL !!

Why couldn't they have called another ambulance service??? this makes no sense to me at all...911 call - critical life/death situation - KLG (ascertained from the article - has only 1 ambulance - but is out of town) and you have no one else to call but the police department? Leetonia FD has EMS, Damascus FD has EMS, Goshen FD has EMS, and EMT ambulance (in salem) things aren't adding up....

Personally some people haven't learned to use common sense yet.

Which maybe cost a person their life ?

Are they EMS trained and certified ?

Why? What is your opinion Grant? Don't you have one to offer?

"Stone did say he would think he would have been contacted by Perry Township the next day or heard about it from a trustee or the fire chief instead of hearing about it from the press two weeks later."

I think that about sums it all up.

There is to much info missing from the story for anyone in the public to have an opinion for outrage or anything else. To many unanswered questions. At this point all I see is a bunch of unprofessional people in a finger pointing typical blame game.

"Whitcher explained that KLG's ambulance was out of town at the time of the call and wanted the fire department to respond."

How did he know this an who did he get this information from? Who called the Salem News to put this out to the public before a professional and proper inquiry was conducted?

I think the actions of Trustee Vice Chairman Don Rudibaugh was pathetic. Don't you think you should get to the bottom of this before you drive the public to mistrust? Ridiculous.

"Why couldn't they have called another ambulance service???"

Madhatter, how do we know they didn't? Just because it's possible the dispatcher lost critical time with KLG's actions, the dispatcher may have dispatched the closest agency. The dispatcher may have called another ambulance for all we know. Lots of the story missing and lots of unanswered questions. Guess we need to wait until we hear all the facts and everything missing before we all come unglued.

Ladybug that isn't exactly a fair question. We have cops that are firefighters and we have firefighters that are cops. Cut them some slack here and stop playing off on the big divide that plays one or the other is less important when it comes to saving lives.

HAHA! Since when do you need more information?! You're an expert on every topic based solely on what is written in any given article, but now you want more information? Had this happened in Salem, I think we'd all be shying away from this comment section because you'd lose your head.

The fire dept is trained ,certified and ready to go.

The only thing missing is a license to administer drugs,

MI 's timing is critical

There's no excuse .

Police should stick to policing

Your official Chief when you take the EMS training ,pas the state or national test.

In fact you could have more legal responsibility for failing to treat someone

"Another emergency service requested the fire dept and they should have been dispatched wiether you think so or not"

Uh, ladybug, where exactly did I say that either way? What do you do make this stuff up as you go?

But since you brought that up. What you wrote is not true and it better not have happened. KLG does not have the authority to self appoint who they want personally to come cover their failures to respond. It is not THEIR decision. PERIOD.

We don't even know how the initial call came in and what that caller requested. There is a bunch of stuff missing from this story.

Fine, tell all these part time firefighters to get out of those police cars. LOL, ladybug stop trying to discredit the cops. It's pathetic.

One more time Grant, and your opinion on this news article is what?????

Oh and as for your mention of this happening in Salem? I doubt seriously that it would ever happen here. I just don't see Jeff crying in the newspaper about what JT did or didn't do and create any mistrust in the eyes of the public.

Because that is exactly what I would lose my head over. Anything else Grant?

Get off you high for once smart ass.

They have a right to request who ever they want band it would only make sense to get help from someone close in the area.

Again with an MI time is criticl

But of course you knew that
