Young, dumb and arrogant won at the finish line!

Well, at least this idiot didn't take the life of another.

When will this ignorance end?

He was young. But he wasn't a Idiot. He made a mistake and sadly it took his life. That "Idiot" Was a Great guy, and his many Friends and Family thought so also. Keep rude comments to yourself. Jerk.

While it was put crudely, we can all be thankful no one else was injured or killed.

His blood alcohol count was that high at noon?? That seems to imply a problem. Not to put this off on anyone else, but was anyone else with him while he was drinking?

(I'm speaking as someone with a "great guy" for a brother who also drank and drove and is also now dead.)

P.S. I am very sorry for your loss. 10 years later I am still very saddened (and yes, still angry) about my brother.

Why can't you keep comments like these to yourselves? The bottom line here is, regardless of what happened, it's over. A lot of people lost someone they cared about and that is all that is left. Why bring in the what if's and insult the deceased? It's a tragedy, a lot of people are hurting from it. Show some respect and keep it to yourself. It's pathetic that I have to give constant lectures on class to a woman who I'm assuming is at least twice my age.

Questioner, I am sorry you lost your brother.

I lost a family member and two friends because of these types of same IDIOTS. DUI and Speed. The deadliest combination on our roads. This "Great" guy wasn't a great guy. He was selfish and had no respect for anybody else but himself. Apparently he was surrounded by people that just didn't know him very well or just didn't care or found it cool he was drunk at noon. That is even more scarier that nobody cared enough. He endangered the public. He had a total disregard for the safety others with his actions. I am doing cartwheels that this IDIOT did not take the life of another person. These fatalities are growing at a rapid pace. Our roadways are DANGEROUS. These are not mistakes. People need to stop making excuses for it. It has to stop. I am done sympathizing with this total IGNORANCE.

Grant, I am very sorry for their loss. But I know they are also thankful no one else was hurt. I also know that in 10 years they are still going to be hurt about it, and probably feel some anger for the waste of his life (at least my family and my brother's wife's family does--and that's very hard to deal with)

One can only hope tho that someone reading the article can try to prevent someone else from having a tragic end.

"Show some respect and keep it to yourself. It's pathetic that I have to give constant lectures on class to a woman who I'm assuming is at least twice my age."

Grant, coming from the young punk that puts a beer box over his head, snaps a few pictures of it and post them publicly to all his little cool friends and you want to lecture me on class?

"The bottom line here is, regardless of what happened, it's over."

That is an attitude to be proud of. It's over, move along people. Big whoop, he's dead, it's over. End of story.

Grant, I pray to gone YOU never lose somebody you love to this ignorance. The pain is horrible. God help you Grant.

"Why can't you keep comments like these to yourselves?"

Saving lives is a sin right Grant? Questioner is right, people need to hear truth and we need to stop beating around it because somebody's feelings might be hurt. You think I don't feel for his parents? Grant, I don't see any family go through this. Is that hard for you to comprehend? People that go there happy little way and don't want to do everything to prevent these tragic deaths are despicable and low class people.

You're pathetic. I lost my best friend in a traffic accident 9 years ago, I know what it feels like. The point is, there is no reason for you to make these comments public. It's despicable. Don't you claim to be a Christian anyways? Where is your forgiveness, where is your sympathy? What is done is done, isn't it God's plan or is that just when it's convenient for you? You're a sick person to hide behind a pseudonym and attack the life of a young kid who made a mistake and paid the ultimate price for it. Haven't he and the people who cared about him suffered enough? Just let it go, keep it to yourself.

Out of respect for his family, I won't engage you on this any further. But just know that you're providing a stunning example of why people don't care to participate in their community.

"stunning example of why people don't care to participate in their community."

Fighting to save lives? That is a stunning exapamle why people don't WANT to participate in their community?

OMG Grant. Are you flipping for real? YOU are not disagreeing with me because it is about right and wrong. You only disagree because it is me. It is not about the issue it never is with you.

You are the most despicable person I have ever seen. Kids are dying Grant and those numbers are growing. What is wrong with you? I don't want any parent to suffer this. When does it matter to you? What's a matter you afraid if people keep noticing that it might interfere with you child games you play? The more these people die the more the Government will get involved. I thought you loved your freedoms. What is next? The statistics grow and they start reducing speed signs. Limiting sales of alcohol? Insurance rates are increasing. More cops.

How more of these news articles of DEATH do we have to endure?

Councilwoman, whether he was drunk at midnight or drunk at noon, does that matter? I don't think anybody denies this family will suffer from this. I just don't want anymore people to die like this. I don't want to see another family suffer this. It is out of control.

But I'm sorry the paper had the time wrong--they said 12:40pm--noon hour.

I personally would not have asked who was with him nor said it sounded as tho he had a drinking problem otherwise.

Not that the time matters when drinking and driving, but I wouldn't have made those particular comments.

questioner, it doesn't matter. Don't worry about it. You said what you felt and that matters.

23 year old boy, is gone. The fact is he was drinking and driving at high rate of speed. That is as clear as it gets. Another one, just the other night in the paper. Repeatedly over and over and over. What do we have to do to stop these senseless deaths? What people forget? When these things happen it hurts of us. Not just that family. All of us. In all different types of ways.

Maybe we need to start asking these questions. Where was at prior to this terrible crash? Who was he with? His friends? At a bar? What wasn't that had this kid barrelling down a roadway at this speed? Trying to impress himself? Who was he racing with?

There are so many unanswered questions?

Who was also driving drunk? That watched this kid crash and left him there for dead because they didn't want to be there when the cops arrived and smelled alcohol on their breath? What happened?

What could have stopped all this? Does anybody care?
